LIFE ON BOARD
A: Stan, this is Kelly. How’s life? Are you having fun on the
cruise?
B: It’s wonderful. I feel so relaxed!
A: What’s your programme?
B: There is no programme and there are no rules. I never
look at my watch. It all depends on the day. I generally
wake up at about seven o’clock. Then I get up, shave,
have a shower, and get dressed. I have an early breakfast
and then decide what to do.
During the day there are so many activities that you’re
never bored. You can train in the gym, play golf or just go
for a walk around the ship. The weather is warm and
beautiful: not a cloud in the sky. You can lie in the sun,
swim in one of the pools, play video games, borrow a
book from the library or learn a language. They say that
anything is possible at sea. You can even get married!
A: Do you ever argue with the other passengers?
B: No, we never argue.
A: Are they nice people?
B: Yes, they’re very pleasant. Everyone gets on well. You can
take your time and you never need to hurry.
A: What about your e-mails?
B: There’s an internet café with broadband. You come in, sit
downand log on. It’s as simple as that. I rest during the
afternoon and then get ready for dinner – the food is first-
rate. After that, I watch a late show and havea drink before
going back to my room and going to bed. I fall asleep
quickly because I get tired when I do nothing.
