A: Hello, Dan.
B: Hi, Sylvia. Is this your daughter?
A: No, this is my niece, Ava. She's my brother's daughter.
B: Oh, I see. She's David's sister then?
A: No, my nephew David's my other brother's son. He's Ava's
cousin.
B: How complicated!
A: How are your parents, Dan?
B: My mother's fine, and my father is too. They’re very busy at
the moment. You know they’ve got seven grandchildren
now!
A: Wow! That’s a lot! And how are your grandparents?
B: My grandfather's well but my grandmother's rather tired at
the moment.
A: Well give them my best wishes.
B: Of course. See you soon Sylvia.
A: Bye Dan.

B: Yes, my husband's over there. And that's my son with him.

A: No, I'm not. I live with my brother and his wife.
B: That’s cool! Have you got a big family?

A: One is. She and my brother-in-law have got three children:

B : Ah, je vois. C’est la sœur de David alors ?
A : Non, mon neveu David est le fils de mon autre frère. C’est
le cousin d’Ava.
B : Comme c’est compliqué !
A : Comment vont tes parents, Dan ?
B : Ma mère va bien, et mon père aussi. Ils sont très occupés
en ce moment. Tu sais qu’ils ont sept petits-enfants
maintenant !
A : Ouh là là ! Ça fait beaucoup ! Et comment vont tes grands-
parents ?
