Making an appointment
R. Doctor’s office. Cathy speaking. How can I help you?
P. This is Ruth Perez. I’d like to make an appointment with Dr.
Smith.
R. Okay. Why do you need to see the doctor?
P. I’ve a sore throat. It has been red and bumpy.
R. How long have you had your symptoms?
P. It’s been bothering me for about three days.
R. Can you come in tomorrow at noon?
P. Yes, that’s fine. Thank you for taking me so soon.
R. Have you been here before?
P. Yes, I have.
R. No problem. We’ll see you tomorrow at 12.00, Ms. Perez.
P. Thank you. Bye

A: You look pale. Are you ill?
B: I've been very tired recently. I’ve got no appetite and I
can't sleep at night.
A: Are you working too hard?
B: Maybe. I feel quite stressed.
A: Why don't you take some time off?
B: I can't afford it at the moment, but I know I need to work
less and relax.
C. And you? How are you?
B: Well, I've got a toothache. It really hurts.
C: Oh dear. Then you must go to the dentist.
B: Yes, I’ve made an appointment for this afternoon.

R. D’accord. Pourquoi avez-vous besoin de voir le médecin ?
P. J’ai mal à la gorge. Elle est rouge et bosselée.
R. Depuis combien de temps avez-vous vos symptômes ?
P. Ça m’embêter depuis trois jours.
R. Pouvez-vous venir demain à midi ?
P. Oui, c’est bien. Merci de m’avoir pris si rapidement.
R. Êtes-vous déjà venu ici ?
P. Oui.
R. Pas de problème. On se voit demain à midi, madame Perez.

A : Pourquoi est-ce que tu ne prends pas des congés ?
B : En ce moment, je ne peux pas me le permettre, mais je sais
que je dois travailler moins et me détendre. Et toi ?

A : Eh bien, j'ai mal à une dent. Ça me fait vraiment mal.
B : Oh là là. Alors tu dois aller chez le dentiste.
A : Oui, j’ai pris un rendez-vous pour cet après-midi.
